Welcome to JOE DIRT at joedirt.net. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and JOE DIRT governing your use of our website and platform. By registering at Register, logging in, posting a job, applying for work, subscribing, or using any JOE DIRT feature, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

What JOE DIRT Is

JOE DIRT is an online marketplace — DIRT WORK. DONE RIGHT. — that helps:

  • Landowners post dirt hauling and earthmoving jobs, review trucker applications, send hire offers, pay a platform service fee, and rate truckers after work is done.
  • Truckers create a professional profile, browse and apply for jobs (with an active subscription), accept or reject hire offers, chat with landowners, track hired jobs, and rate completed work.

Important: JOE DIRT connects users and provides tools (job board, applications, chat, ratings, and platform payments). We are not the employer, general contractor, or hauling company. The actual hauling agreement is between the landowner and the trucker. JOE DIRT is not responsible for on-site work, equipment operation, or payment for hauling labor unless explicitly stated on the platform at the time of transaction.

Eligibility & Your Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter binding agreements.
  • You must register with accurate information: name, username, email, phone, and account type (Trucker or Landowner).
  • Your username must follow our format rules. One person or business entity per account unless we approve otherwise.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, post fraudulent content, abuse other users, or create security risks.

Landowner Terms

As a landowner on JOE DIRT, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate job information when using Post a Job, including location, zip code, job category, units, geological conditions, dates, descriptions, and bid price.
  • Not include prohibited content in job posts (such as direct contact information or email addresses intended to bypass the platform — our system validates job content for this purpose).
  • Review applications honestly and make hire decisions in good faith.
  • Follow the platform hire process: send a hire offer → wait for trucker acceptance → pay the platform service fee (5% of the agreed bid price) through Stripe before the hire is finalized and the job is closed on the platform.
  • Communicate professionally through job chat and respond to hired truckers in a timely manner.
  • Rate truckers honestly after job completion using the platform rating system.
  • Maintain any required permits, site access rights, and legal authority for the work you post.

Trucker Terms

As a trucker on JOE DIRT, you agree to:

  • Maintain an accurate profile, including equipment capabilities, service region, rates, skills, experience, and profile photo where applicable.
  • Maintain an active subscription (Monthly or Yearly plan) to browse jobs on Find Jobs and submit applications, unless we state otherwise.
  • Submit truthful applications with accurate bid prices and attachments.
  • Respond to hire offers by accepting or rejecting them through My Applications within a reasonable time.
  • Perform hired work professionally and safely.
  • Communicate with landowners through job chat for hired or active applications.
  • Rate completed jobs honestly after work is finished.
  • Maintain valid licenses, insurance, DOT compliance, and all permits required for your hauling operations in your jurisdiction.

Jobs, Applications & the Hire Process

The standard JOE DIRT hire workflow works as follows:

  1. Landowner posts a job and trucker submits an application (with optional bid and attachments).
  2. Landowner reviews applications on View Applications and may reject applicants or send a hire offer.
  3. Trucker receives a notification and email, then accepts or rejects the offer from My Applications.
  4. If accepted, landowner pays the 5% platform service fee (calculated from the agreed bid price) via Stripe.
  5. After successful payment, the application is marked hired, the job status may be set to closed, and both parties can use job chat.

Landowners may also invite truckers directly from Find Truckers. Invitations notify truckers by email and in-app notification with a link to the job.

JOE DIRT does not guarantee that any job will be filled, any application will be accepted, or any user will complete work satisfactorily.

Ratings

  • When a landowner marks a job as completed, both parties may be prompted to rate each other (landowner rates trucker; trucker rates the job/landowner).
  • Ratings and feedback are displayed on profiles and help other users make informed decisions. Ratings must be honest and based on actual work experience.
  • We may remove ratings or content that is abusive, fraudulent, or violates these Terms.

Subscriptions, Fees & Payments

Trucker subscriptions

  • Truckers must purchase a subscription through Subscription to access premium job-browsing features.
  • Current plans: Monthly Subscription ($120.00) and Yearly Subscription ($899.00). Prices may change; the price shown at checkout applies.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. You must provide valid billing information. Subscription status, renewal dates, and payment history are available in your account.

Landowner platform hire fee

  • When hiring a trucker who has accepted your offer, you pay a 5% platform service fee on the agreed bid price through Stripe before the hire is finalized.
  • This fee is for use of the JOE DIRT platform and is separate from any payment you arrange directly with the trucker for the hauling work itself.

General payment terms

  • All Stripe transactions are also subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy.
  • Fees paid to JOE DIRT are generally non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated at checkout. Contact us for billing disputes.
  • You are responsible for any taxes applicable to platform fees in your jurisdiction.

Job Chat & Communications

  • Job chat is available between the landowner and trucker for a specific job application. Messages may include text and file attachments (images, PDF, Word, Excel — maximum 5 MB per file).
  • Chat is intended for job-related coordination only. Do not use it for harassment, spam, or illegal activity.
  • Unread chat messages may trigger in-app notifications immediately and email reminders after a delay.
  • We may review chat content if required to investigate abuse, fraud, or legal compliance.

Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Provide false identity, credentials, insurance, or equipment information.
  • Circumvent platform fees by arranging hires or payments entirely off-platform after connecting through JOE DIRT.
  • Post jobs or messages containing spam, malware, hate speech, threats, or illegal content.
  • Scrape, copy, or resell JOE DIRT data or job listings without permission.
  • Attempt to access another user's account, applications, or chat without authorization.
  • Interfere with website security, including bypassing reCAPTCHA on registration or contact forms.
  • Use automated bots to register, apply, or message users.

Your Content

You own the content you submit (job posts, profile information, photos, messages, ratings). By submitting content to JOE DIRT, you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely to operate and promote the platform (for example, showing your job on Find Jobs or your profile on Find Truckers).

You confirm you have the right to upload all images, documents, and text you submit, and that your content does not violate any third-party rights or laws.

Disclaimers

JOE DIRT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

  • That truckers hold valid licenses, insurance, or safety certifications (users must verify this themselves).
  • That landowners have legal authority over job sites or materials being moved.
  • That any job or bid will result in successful completion of work.
  • Uninterrupted access to joedirt.net (maintenance, hosting issues, or third-party outages may occur).

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOE DIRT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOE DIRT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • On-site accidents, property damage, environmental issues, or injuries arising from hauling work.
  • Disputes over payment or work quality between landowners and truckers.
  • Lost profits, lost data, or indirect/consequential damages from use of the platform.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO JOE DIRT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) FEES YOU PAID TO JOE DIRT IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify JOE DIRT against claims, damages, fines, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your job postings, your hauling work, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Account Termination

You may stop using JOE DIRT at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, non-payment, fraudulent activity, or risk to other users. Upon termination, your right to access the platform ends, but provisions on liability, indemnification, and disputes survive.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where JOE DIRT operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of courts in that state for disputes arising from these Terms or your use of joedirt.net, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when we add features (new payment options, subscription plans, or tools). The updated version will be posted on this page with a new Last updated date. Material changes may be communicated by email or site notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
